A gal from the sunny West Coast, Trina Turk continues to be an inspiration to the LKRE team. With her punchy prints and iconic style, Trina has championed the effortless élan and sunny optimism infiltrating the world of fashion, accessories and residential decor. Trina opened her first boutique in Palm Springs in 2002 and has since expanded to seven boutiques including Los Angeles, New York, Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Burlingame, Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, and her newest store in Dallas’ Highland Park Village which opened in 2011.  Trina is both inspired by and represents the lifestyle of California: optimistic, progressive, accessible, effortless, colorful, and confident. Her fashion, accessory, and home collections are influenced by her love of vintage apparel, jewelry, and accessories from the ’60s and ’70s, modernist and graphic arts, and mid-century modern architecture. Trina’s designs have graced our front office which boasts a collection of her tangerine and white lattice design which ironically evoke the LKRE logo!

The design maven herself; ladies and gentlemen, Trina Turk!

Wish we were there!

We LOVE these prints!!

The fabulous, Lilly Pulitzer married Peter Pulitzer and escaped the hustle and bustle of New York City for the sand and sun of Palm Beach. With your husband running the family orange groves why not start a juice stand?! Lilly started her new business venture in 1959, inspired by her colorful nature, the entrepreneur launched a line of brightly colored shift dresses covered in playful prints to disguise her juice stained dresses. Lilly Pulitzer the clothing label was born.

It wasn’t long before her “classic shift dress” shot to international fame when Lilly’s old schoolmate Jacqueline Kennedy was photographed wearing a “Lilly” while on vacation. Lilly Pulitzer became a hit in all of the country’s most fashionable resort towns, and soon ’60s style icons were wearing Lilly’s designs!

“Jackie wore one of my dresses – it was made from kitchen curtain material – and people went crazy. They took off like zingo. Everybody loved them, and I went into the dress business.” – Lilly

Fast-forward 50 years and Lilly Pulitzer prints are still a favorite for all that lead colorful lives! I think every girl needs a little “Lilly Pulitzer” in their life.
