Dating back to early medieval and ancient Roman times, the tunic has been around for quite a while. Featuring decorative embroidery or tablet-woven braids along the neck, hem and wrists, the tunic has evolved from a piece typically worn under a toga to an integral element of our summer wardrobe. In modern day fashion, the tunic has become one of our go-to pieces for spring + summer gear. Typically made of lightweight linen or cotton, tunics have a great way of flattering our figures while offering style and comfort. We love Tory Burch’s line of tunics this season- their colors pop and the patterns are so much fun! Pair a tunic with some skinny jeans and flat, strappy sandals and you’re off.  Or use a tunic as a coverup when you’re pool side and need to shield your skin from the sun. We can’t wait to rock our favorite tunics this season!

Newport is no stranger to stripes! That’s why we’re even more excited than usual about embracing a fresh spring trend. Seen on the runways around the globe, stripes are back and bolder than ever this Spring. From nautically inspired tops and dresses to mod shoes and accessories, the stripe fad is here to stay!

All of this sunshine has us dreaming of warm weather.  With warm weather, comes bright colors, citrus fruits and light-weight  fabric. We absolutely love tangerine- in our wardrobes, as accessories, in our homes. Something about this bright color keeps us warm during these last hours of winter. Here’s wishing you a sunny and bright day!

One of our very favorites colors is mint green. With the holiday insanity upon us, there are days when we can’t help but drift off to another place, imagining soft white sand and the ethereal blues and greens of a calm, tropical sea. We welcome peaceful shades like mint green into our wardrobes and homes as somehow they cast a sense of tranquility over us. A mint green door, a mint cardigan, a mint chair- all of which are sure to lighten your mood and ease your mind during this incredibly tense season.

It’s not even December and our calendars are already filling up with holiday celebrations. We have decided to put away the LBD  and instead, bring out the Little RED Dress! Red is so much fun, especially around the holidays. Pair a short red dress with gold heels and a black blazer and you are on your way. Want a boho chic look? Pair your red long dress with a pair of black riding boots and a long chain necklace. Whichever way you rock it, red is a sure way to get noticed at your slew of holiday parties!
