Amongst our hurried schedules, we often find ourselves darting all over the island from showing to showing, from client to client. At the end of the work day, we make the usual rounds of hitting the yoga studio, then grocery store, then alas, we’re home. We very rarely have a lazy afternoon to saunter around the city, discovering new shops however this past Sunday, the stars aligned and we had just one of those perfect days in Newport. With the sun shining and the cool breeze upon our faces, we stumbled into Le Petit Gourmet on Bellevue Avenue. We ordered a cheese plate which came adorned with all kinds of beautiful accouterments like nuts, dried cranberries and honey. We enjoyed our fromage experience al fresco at a quaint little table on the sidewalk and watched the world go by. We saw guests coming in and out of the Hotel Viking, we saw tourists running up and down the hill to the Newport Boat Show, but all the while, we sat back and relished in the simple act of devouring what was before us.

Le Petit Gourmet is run by the lovely Maria who prides herself on featuring high quality, small production, hand crafted wines & cheeses from around the globe. The shop hosts weekly wine tastings and regular seminars which are great platforms for learning about the finer things in life.
