As a self named real estate company, Libby Kirwin Real Estate finds inspiration in like-minded entrepreneurs that are setting trends, always ahead of the curve and setting new standards in the industry. This month we wanted to identify Christopher C. Bicho (happy birthday, btw), the firm founder of Landings Real Estate Group, a private development company here in Newport, Rhode Island.
Bicho, is a seasoned real estate professional with over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, and for the past decade has been a leader in the privatization of government owned residential and commercial real estate. LKRE has admired some of the Landings most recent projects including The East Island Reserve. “Our vision is to offer travelers an alternative option for luxury vacation accommodations in the Newport County area,” said Christopher Bicho.
Bicho also purchased the once Spring Street Inn, and beautifully transformed the B&B into The Newport Inn. “Our newest collection to the Vacation Newport brand will offer travelers to our city accommodations with historic charm paired with the indulgences of luxury.”
Lastly, the most anticipated renovation is the transformation of the Newport Fire Station No. 6 location, formally a pizza shop and local hangout. Landings’ vision for the property is to restore the firehouse it to its former glory, preserving it as a beacon of history on lower Thames Street in Newport’s Fifth Ward neighborhood. In doing so, Landings intends to maintain the building’s slate roof, restore the brick facade, restore the original firehouse doors and replace windows with replications of the originals. “We are thrilled to be able to preserve this piece of Newport history and integrate it into our vision for our vacation rental portfolio here in Newport,” said Christopher Bicho.
