This past weekend, we were blessed with warm weather and bountiful sunshine- all of the ingredients necessary to prove that summer truly is here! While last week we saluted neutrals, this week, we celebrate COLOR- more specifically our 2 favorite colors together, acqua and coral. These 2 hues, indigenous to sunsets, beachside fun and sail boat soirees, look stunning as accessories, dresses and even inside the home. Complement a plush aqua chair with a bright coral accent pillow or don a gorgeous turquoise necklace when wearing a blazing orange maxi dress. Whichever way you decide to rock it, this dynamic color combo is bound for glory!

It all started when Libby’s husband Kevin brought her to climb Mount Washington. Libby watched her husband as he strategically packed his Northface backpack for the trip and then with ease and grace, slung the pack over his shoulder and was ready to go. Libby looked down at her cumbersome weekender tote and realized that Kevin was on to something. Now, equip with her own Northface backpack, Libby prefers to travel with this piece of luggage over anything else. Leaving her hands free to email clients, snap photos along the way or to carry her token bottle of San Pellegrino, the backpack offers a convenient way to tote your belongings in a comfortable, supportive manner. With Libby’s recent 30 Days of Yoga challenge, the backpack travel method keeps her back in perfect alignment and works her core as she jaunts around the US.  Below are a few backpacks that caught our eye!

As the summer season nears, the sunshine is getting stronger and we’re wearing less clothing. It’s imperative that we protect our fragile skin with a strong SPF. Libby is loving Anthelios SPF 60 by La Roche-Posay. Each morning, she spreads a nourishing layer of the fast-absorbing, light-weight “melt-in sunscreen lotion” on her face to protect it from the damaging UV rays that are present throughout the day. As an avid supporter of the Melanoma Foundation of New England, Libby takes sun care very seriously. We can certainly all still have fun in the sun just as long as we play it smart and use the proper skin protection.

When you’re as busy as Libby Kirwin- constantly darting around the state to various showings, open houses, consultations and meetings- it’s difficult to find your center and to not become a tightly wound ball of stress. It takes discipline and tenacity to make time for mental clarity each day. This month, Libby has embarked upon an ambitious 30 yoga classes in 30 day personal challenge. Today is day #8 and Libby is feeling amazing! The routine thus far has been 6 Power Yoga classes in a row, followed by 1 Restorative for the 7th class. So, if you happen to pop into Newport Power Yoga in the next month, chances are you will see our dear Libby perched upon her yoga mat engaged in Warrior pose ready to take on the world.  Namaste!

Chances are, if you have a useable attic in your home that it’s crammed with boxes of old holiday decorations, the eves are coated in a thick blanket of cobwebs and it smells musty and damp. Alas, we have recently become obsessed with the idea of finished attics- a genius way to extend the space in your house in a non-conventional way. Those cobwebby eves can instead be seen as chic “exposed beams” and the slanted ceilings can be seen as intentional loft-style architecture. Below are some takes on finished attics done right.
