It all started when Libby’s husband Kevin brought her to climb Mount Washington. Libby watched her husband as he strategically packed his Northface backpack for the trip and then with ease and grace, slung the pack over his shoulder and was ready to go. Libby looked down at her cumbersome weekender tote and realized that Kevin was on to something. Now, equip with her own Northface backpack, Libby prefers to travel with this piece of luggage over anything else. Leaving her hands free to email clients, snap photos along the way or to carry her token bottle of San Pellegrino, the backpack offers a convenient way to tote your belongings in a comfortable, supportive manner. With Libby’s recent 30 Days of Yoga challenge, the backpack travel method keeps her back in perfect alignment and works her core as she jaunts around the US.  Below are a few backpacks that caught our eye!

This weekend, Libby Kirwin Real Estate is pleased to fuse 2 of our favorite things together: Real Estate and YOGA! Whilst hosting an Open House at 31 Carter Drive in Portsmouth from 10am to 1pm, the lovely Hillary Olinger will be hosting a trunk show featuring NUX yoga gear. This is in perfect timing for Libby’s 30 day personal yoga challenge.  So grab your morning cup o’ joe and head on out to Portsmouth to view a freshly renovated home and to snag some of the season’s hottest workout gear. When you’re as busy as Libby Kirwin- constantly darting around the state to various showings, open houses, consultations and meetings- it’s difficult to find your center and to not become a tightly wound ball of stress. It takes discipline and tenacity to make time for mental clarity each day. This month, Libby has embarked upon an ambitious 30 yoga classes in 30 day personal challenge. Today is day #8 and Libby is feeling amazing! The routine thus far has been 6 Power Yoga classes in a row, followed by 1 Restorative for the 7th class. So, if you happen to pop into Newport Power Yoga in the next month, chances are you will see our dear Libby perched upon her yoga mat engaged in Warrior pose ready to take on the world.  Namaste!

Feeling sluggish today after the long winter?  Try this delicious shake to start your day and feel energetic in no time!

Bethenny Frankel’s Pomegranate Smoothie
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 5 minutes | Total time: 10 minutes | Servings: 2

1 cup(s) of cup berries (such as raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries)
1/4 cup(s) of cup pomegranate juice
1/4 cup(s) of cup water
1/2 banana
1 cup(s) of ice

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Sweet and nutritious and full of antioxidants!  Enjoy!

This time of the year is particularly stressful. Besides the holidays, the weather is getting colder and our bodies are at high risk for catching germs and getting sick. One of Libby’s favorite ways to combat stress and to stay healthy throughout the winter is to practice yoga. Lately, she’s been attending classes at Newport Power Yoga led by Dina Jenks. Dina began practicing yoga back in 1998 and loved it so much that she instantly felt her calling as an instructor. Receiving her certification from Nosara Yoga Institute in tropical Costa Rica, Dina has been teaching various different style of yoga ever since. With a focus on Ashtanga, Dina’s classes have a strong foundation in alignment, movement and breath- all of which will certainly aid in keeping your body and mind in pristine health through the winter months.
