{Color Combo Crush} Aqua + Coral

This past weekend, we were blessed with warm weather and bountiful sunshine- all of the ingredients necessary to prove that summer truly is here! While last week we saluted neutrals, this week, we celebrate COLOR- more specifically our 2 favorite colors together, acqua and coral. These 2 hues, indigenous to sunsets, beachside fun and sail boat soirees, look stunning as accessories, dresses and even inside the home. Complement a plush aqua chair with a bright coral accent pillow or don a gorgeous turquoise necklace when wearing a blazing orange maxi dress. Whichever way you decide to rock it, this dynamic color combo is bound for glory!

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

One of our absolute favorite features in a property is a private dock. A place to walk out and sip your morning coffee on as the world slowly wakes up. A perfect runway to dash down on a hot summer day, diving into the crisp, cool water- washing away the stresses of the afternoon. And alas, the ideal spot to relax as the sun dips down into the horizon, painting dramatic hues of oranges, pinks and reds across the western sky- perhaps casting out a line in hopes of catching dinner. Being that we are surrounded by water, we are privileged to have spent many a great moments perched upon these nautical wooden pathways. We look forward to many more waterside memories this summer!

Poolside Chic

As the weather starts to heat up this spring, we can’t help but dream of lying poolside, sipping ice cold lemonade, reading a great book and soaking in plenty of sunshine. Surrounded entirely by the salty Atlantic, Newport is not known for our abundance of in-ground pools so we must rely on our imaginations to transport us to a plush chaise lounge overlooking an ice blue pool of perfectly cool, refreshing water.

Pools are ideal spots to host swanky summer gatherings- think Diddy’s WHITE PARTY in the Hamptons- while they’re also fantastic locations for intimate dinner parties or brunch spreads. Enjoyed solo or with a handful of your favorite people, we love a well-done pool environment complete with posh furniture and manicured greenery.

Shower Love

There’s nothing better than returning home from the beach, your body glazed with sea salt from the ocean, and stepping under the warm stream of water from an outdoor shower. Not having to trek your sandy feet inside the house and clogging up the drain with seaweed and sand, but instead returning these tokens back to Mother Nature as they wash away back into the earth. One of our favorite beach house features is the outdoor shower and luckily here on Aquidneck Island, many of the homes here are blessed with this fabulous attribute. Below are a few of some outdoor showers that make us crave the summer sunshine!

Entertaining Punta Cana Style with Oscar de la Renta

After weekends like we have just experienced, we can’t help but to long for a tropical vacation. How lovely would it be to find yourself on a white sandy beach in Punta Cana at the private residence of Oscar de la Renta, sipping champagne and noshing on tropical fruits? Well, if we can’t get to the vacation, at least we will settle for de la Renta’s new island-inspired tabletop and entertaining collection which debuts this month at Oscar de la Renta boutiques and Bloomingdales. In collaboration with his Creative Director and decorator, Miles Redd, de la Renta’s new collection features ocean-colored hughes like cobalt and teal while also incorporating natural elements such as teak and horn. Encompassing the essential elements of entertaining such as champagne buckets, resin trays, dominoes, fish figurine bottle openers and stoneware dishes- this collection will have you island dreaming in no time.
