On Wednesday, June 27th, Fort Adams opened up the gates to the people of Newport to join in the festivities of the America’s Cup Opening Ceremony- and of course LKRE got in on the action.  The event kicked off with Newport’s local reggae band- The Ravers,  followed by a welcome and introduction of the competing teams. The critically acclaimed Island Moving Company was there to dance a stunning performance as the sun began to descend over Newport harbor. Later, there was a symbolic raising of each country’s flag and some opening words from some noted dignitaries such as Governor Lincoln Chafee.  We found our way to the Moët tent where we sipped on some bubbly and watched one of the summer’s most iconic sunsets yet as the sweet sounds of reggae echoed in the background. Alas, this event was spectacular!
