Steve Jobs redefined the concept of commercial architecture with his sleek and inviting style and his unmatched branding technique.  Jobs was able to transform every Apple store-front into, seemingly, the ultimate apple product.

In a recent New York Times article, Steve Jobs’ partner-in-design, Peter Bohlin discusses how his ability to make tangible what Steve Jobs envisioned is what made the Apple brand so successful.

The one medium that transformed Apple  into the sleek, transparent, clean brand that we all know, is glass. Especially interesting is the glass staircase concept that was patented by Steve Jobs, and has become a signature feature in many Apple stores . Virtually transparent, this gorgeous structure can’t help but peak the interest of customers and entice them to climb to the next level.

Why does this inspire me?

Because this is what happens when a great business meets great design.
